We are Michele and John – growers of fresh, seasonal, organic vegetables and herbs. Stonecircle Organic Farm is currently fully certified with Organic Farm NZ .
We supply local families with a varied selection of fresh seasonal produce through our weekly deliveries in Amberley, Kaiapoi and certain areas of Christchurch. We sell our produce at the Waipara Valley Farmers Market, and we also sell directly from the farm – by arrangement.
Our produce is lovingly grown according to Bio-Gro standards on our 15 acre farm located between Amberley village and the beach.
At Stonecircle Organics we are committed to working closely with nature and following sustainable practices that have a low negative impact on our environment. We understand that the health and fertility of the soil is integral to all life on our planet and therefore adopt organic practices that optimise the health and nutrional value of our produce.
Stonecircle Organic Farm
Through growing food organically and distributing locally we are not only ensuring that our produce does not harm the soil and consumer through chemical sprays, we are also eliminating the negative environmental effects of mass transit and plastic packaging produced by the importing and exporting of goods by large supermarkets.
We value the personal interaction with our customers and the positive affects this has on our community and environment and our customers enjoy great satisfaction in knowing exactly where their food is grown, who grows it and that it hasn't cost the earth to produce it.
We live a veganish lifestyle, but do not farm strictly veganically as we use organic animal manures. However we do not fertilize with blood and bone or fishmeal, or run stock for meat production.
Our vision for the future is to plant out 5 acres of the farm in native bush. It is hoped that this will provide a habitat for many native birds as they move from the mountains back to the sea.
